This marketing mistake came up during one of our Customer Value Journey exercises. An eco-consulting firm had the perfect setup: strong awareness, a big webinar audience, plenty of buzz.
The presentation went beautifully… until the ending. The screen just stopped. No link, no invitation, just a fade to black like the world’s least satisfying movie.
Everyone loved it. No one took action. Because they didn’t know what came next.
We pointed out the missing “Convert” stage in their journey and helped them add one simple slide: “Book your free strategy call.” The next webinar pulled in 22 percent more consults.
We still laugh about it in the office. “You had them laughing, learning, nodding along… and then left them hanging.”
Marketing is storytelling, and every story needs a final scene (for our purposes, the call to action). Don’t roll the credits before the ending.
